Deleting your Inkto account

Two ways to do it. Both delete the same things.

In the app

  1. Open Inkto and go to Account.
  2. Scroll to Delete account.
  3. Confirm. You are asked twice, on purpose.

By email, without the app

Email inkto.ai@gmail.com with the subject Delete my account, from the email address you signed in with. Sending from that address is how we confirm the account is yours; if you cannot, tell us and we will find another way to verify it before deleting anything.

We action requests within 7 days, and reply when it is done.

What gets deleted

DeletedWhen
Your sign-in. Every session is revoked and the link to your Google or Apple identity is removed, so the account cannot be signed into again. With Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the token.Immediately
Every document you imported, and the text extracted from them.Within 7 days
Your reading positions, favourites and library.Within 7 days
Your listening statistics and streaks.Within 7 days
Your profile: name, email address and account settings.Within 7 days

The 7-day window

Deletion is not instant for your data, and that is deliberate: it gives you a few days to change your mind after an accidental tap. During the window you can cancel from inside the app. After it, the data is gone and we cannot bring it back.

What we keep, and why

Nothing else is retained.

Deleting less than everything

If you only want a document gone, you do not need to delete your account: in the library, tap the red bin on that row and confirm. The document and its extracted text are removed.

If you want a copy of your data before you go, the app can export it — Account → export — and we can also send it to you on request.
